Radical Atheist Relgious Nuts

"Atheist Religion" sounds strange.  How could a belief that there is no god be a religion?  The operative word is "belief," otherwise called faith.  The belief that there is no god is even harder to prove than the belief that there is a god.  God has to show up once to prove that s/he exists.  To prove that there is no god means showing that for every possible concept of god and every possible time period and every possible place, god does not exist.

When you hear people strongly asserting their conviction that there is no god and proselytizing converts to their view, you may be hearing "radical religious nuts" at work.  To me, the only intellectually honest position is agnosticism, "I don't know."  God has not spoken to me directly, and if He has, I'm not telling you or those nice young men in their clean white coats who are coming to take me away (ala Dr. Demento.)

Atheist Religious Nuts do a huge disservice to the teaching of science.  Most people believe in God.  When the Atheist Religious Nuts proselytize by trying to prove through science that there is no god, they convince God's believers that science is an Atheist black art that should be avoided.  What a tragedy.  Science is the process of puzzling out how the universe works, regardless of how or by whom it was created.

To those of faith, God fearing or Atheist, "Remember when you are speaking of God, she's black."  Can you prove otherwise?

Radical Right-wing Conservative Religious Nuts

Faced with religious radicals that would take over the government and force everyone to conform to their views, I am ready to resist personally and to ask the government to resist.  If fact, I am resistant to Socialism, Communism, Fascism, Nazism and any other compulsive form of government, including government that taxes and inflates its money to suck the individual dry and make him dependent.

A lot of people fear religious radicals.  Radicals are willing to bomb and kill and threaten and take hostages.  They want their own way.  They believe themselves to be right and that there is no other truth but their own.  They believe there should be religious indoctrination in schools.  They believe that prayer should be required in schools and elsewhere.  They believe the god of Abraham, the god of Jesus, is the only god and that anyone who thinks otherwise is going to hell.

What worries me most is that a lot of people in this country fear the mild mannered Christian conservative nuts who would take over government through the ballot box (which will never happen) and ignore or even support Islamic conservative nuts that would take over through slaughter, mayhem, and chaos.  The Islamic jihadists have been expanding their territory by the sword right from the beginning of their religion.  Mohammed was a warlord.  The Christian Crusades were an attempt stop the jihadists and make Jerusalem safe for Christian pilgrims.

Modern jihadists are willing to die while killing non-believers because they have been convinced that they will go bodily straight to heaven to meet with 70 virgins.  Of course, virgins are virgins because they say no.  That is beside the point.  The big lie to the jihadists is that they will go to heaven.  God's, Allah's, will is supreme.  No one can speak for Allah.  Allah is not bound by promises, especially promises made to Mohammed centuries ago.  No amount of prayer or study by modern clerics can bind Allah.

Jihadists ignore the lie and kill and die.  They fly planes into buildings, bomb trains and subways, and will set off atomic bombs if they can.  They have declared war on us, literally.  They want to collapse our government and way of life.  Part of the plan is to enrage Muslims worldwide by getting us to panic and attack innocent Muslims in the US.  How?  By making sure Muslims are identified as the perpetrators of outrageous acts of savagery against Americans.

Is there any hope?  Sure!  Make sure you and/or your kids learn a Middle Eastern language.  Jihadists can send out messages without using code because we can't understand their language.  Get to know a Muslim.  Most are good, honest, hardworking people.  They don't support the radicals but can't stop them any more than "normal" Christians can stop Christian radicals.  Another reason they are powerless is that all Mosques (buildings) in the US are owned by radicals.  It is hard for good people to have a power base when they are homeless.  If you think radical Muslims are harmless and "cute," get your head out of your rear end.

The Wizard Speaks

Wisdom, not Wizardry.  That will be the attempt.  Any Wizardry will be the Halloween costume kind.  Any Wisdom will be wise only by my definition and understanding.  As I raised a family and worked a job, I learned a lot, but how could I pass along the knowledge?  When I am with family, I have better things to do than give seminars and besides, they wouldn't be interested anyway.  At work I had a few opportunities to help with continuing education or mentoring, but it was usually technically oriented.

Sometimes I have good insights, but usually more questions than answers.  The attempt is to find a reasonable position between the extremes of opinion.  The ultimate goal is to define the Good Life and figure out how to live it.  To that end, we moved to Hawaii some years ago.  We were making good money in Southern California, but not saving a cent.  I figured it this way:  "I would rather be poor in Hawaii than going no place in Southern California."  Thus we are poorer and happier.

Since I have had the kitchen torn up for 4 years and company is coming for Thanksgiving, I must go to work.  (Sorry for the 4 letter word.)
